She's a Lady....
/As much as I love clothing that is “borrowed from the boys” it’s always nice to get in touch with our feminine side. When sitting down with clients a common topic that comes up is that they want to dress like a more ladylike, but still want to be taken seriously. This is especially true with clients that are in a field that requires them to become to be extremely assertive like medicine, law, and finance. For years they have worn a uniform of suits and darks colors, but they don’t feel that it actually them or how they want to be perceived.
I have found that women that dress in a feminine way are actually perceived as being more powerful then someone that shows up in a navy pant suit. It may have something to do with the confidence that a women in a hot pink dress exudes over someone that is trying to blend in. When you are wearing something that may be considered to be a little flashy or not typical, you make calling attention to yourself and telling people that you have an opinion that they should listen to.
I am not suggesting showing up like Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde, but adding a few feminine details into your wardrobe (especially ones that you personally like) will make you feel more confident and will get you positive attention. Here are a few suggestion on how to get some lady like details into your closet.
