Get to know my client... Kellie
/Meet Kellie.
Kellie is in her early 30's and just had her second child. She has always worked a corporate job but is in the process of a career change and is starting a new job with a start-up company. She is very excited about the new opportunity!
However, what Kellie has shared with me is that she is also super overwhelmed. She has two young kids and is now making a significant change in her life. Her life has changed, her work has changed, and her body has changed. (This Mama still wants to lose 10lbs but is trying to give herself some grace and appreciate what she's got)
Do you know what hasn't changed? Kellie's clothes. Kellie is holding on to a wardrobe that doesn't quite fit. She has all these clothes that are from her corporate and pre-kid life. The corporate clothes are too formal for the more casual atmosphere of the new job. On the weekends, she's just a hot mess. She is frustrated and discouraged because she doesn't know how to dress. She wants to feel put together and confident. She wants to look like she put in some effort, but not like she is trying too hard.
Kellie has tried subscription boxes, but those just stressed her out more by adding more clothes to the closet that she didn't how to wear.
So now, Kellie is working with me. She's choosing to work with a stylist even though she knows she wants to lose more weight. She's choosing to work with a stylist even though she has a closet full of clothes. The choice to work with me is really about Kellie wanting to feel confident and comfortable in her clothes. By working with me, Kellie eliminates the stress of getting dressed every day.
My Goals for Kellie:
Determine what Kellie's style is. She had a style once, but her life has changed. She is not 20 anymore, but she's also not 70, and there is a middle ground out there that will meet Kellie's lifestyle and needs. I will help Kellie find her NEW style.
Create a capsule-style wardrobe that has some stand out pieces but allows for Kellie to mix and match the pieces. That means we'll have a lot of neutral pieces but add splashes that help Kellie stand out in all the right ways.
My process through Pinterest:
Create a "This is me" board. Include pictures of what your life is like right now. Show me your vacations, what you do on the weekends, what you do with friends, the activities you do with your kids, and how you choose to spend date nights. Include what you wear NOW during these activities.
2. Create a "This is me if only…" board. Show me what you would wear if you lived your ideal/dream life. This dream life could include "if I lived in Greece" "if I lost 20 lbs" "if I didn't have kids" "if I got a promotion" This is a fantasy board, there are no limits.
3. Create an "I wouldn't be caught dead in this" board. Show me all the things you would never wear. They may be things that are too frumpy, too tight, short, pink, colorful, etc.
This process allows me to see patterns in the preferences and dislikes that my clients don't see. Then we can talk about them. We talk about where you would wear certain items, why you dislike certain things. I get a clear idea of what you need in your wardrobe and how to make it best work for you.
I create a mood board for you that I break down into different situations and what I envision you wearing. You tell me what works and what doesn't. What we have left is YOUR STYLE!
We use these images to shop your closet ad the stores to create outfits that fit you and your life. Just like Kellie, most of us want easy, interchangeable outfits that give us some choice and control but make getting dressed easy and stress-free.
I love that I was able to help Kellie go from being unsure and frustrated to being at ease and confident while facing this new phase of life. If you’re willing to put aside all the reasons why now is not a good time and get back to feeling good in your clothes again, reach out, I can help!
